Immersive VR Media Planning for Digital Out-of-Home Advertising
In collaboration with WOW Media, our IT agency developed a Meta Quest VR application designed to transform how billboard locations and media plans are presented to clients. The application allows users to step into an immersive virtual environment and experience WOW Media’s Los Angeles digital billboard network in a more interactive, engaging, and memorable way.
Built in Unity, the VR experience gives sales teams and customers a new way to visualize premium out-of-home advertising placements, explore selected locations, and better understand the impact of campaigns before they go live. Instead of relying only on static presentations or traditional media plan materials, the application brings billboard environments to life and helps brands see how their creative can become part of the city’s visual landscape.

Challenge
The challenge was to create an innovative sales and presentation tool that would help WOW Media showcase its digital billboard locations in a more immersive and convincing way.
Traditional media planning often depends on maps, images, decks, and location sheets, which can make it difficult for clients to fully understand scale, visibility, surroundings, and the real-world impact of a billboard campaign.
Our goal was to develop a VR experience that would make media planning more engaging, easier to understand, and more aligned with the bold, high-impact nature of digital out-of-home advertising.

Technology
The application was developed in Unity and optimized for Meta Quest, enabling a smooth and immersive standalone VR experience. Blender was used for preparing and optimizing 3D assets, helping ensure strong visual quality and reliable performance on the headset.The project included VR interaction design, 3D scene development, user interface implementation, and performance optimization for headset-based usage. By combining Unity’s real-time 3D capabilities with optimized 3D assets, we delivered a practical and engaging VR tool tailored for sales presentations, customer demonstrations, and modern media planning.
